Mapping Care: Taking Stock of What Sustains Ourselves & Our Communities
Day in and day out, who and what sustains you? A warm meal? A walk with a friend? Electricity? We use words like "take care" casually, but the web of care that holds each of us together is vast and largely invisible. In this interactive workshop, we'll slow down to attempt to map that web — tracing the care that flows through our own lives and through our communities, asking where it comes from, who provides it, and what happens when it runs thin. Drawing on ideas from feminist political economy and degrowth, this workshop invites you to explore care not as a private, individual matter, but as something social, political, and worth reimagining together. 12-16 participants (limited seating). One drink order requested (separate payment at venue in cash) to support NAMNAM Space. This workshop is for you if… You think about mutual aid, community building, or sustainable livelihoods You're curious about degrowth and post-capitalist futures You want to connect with others thinking about how we sustain one another You're interested in care labor, social reproduction, or feminist economics
